jj Babbitt Posts Best Year in Company History

By Rocky Giglio

ELKHART INDIANA–In 2006, the jj Babbitt Company, 2201 Industrial Parkway, experienced its highest sales in company history. Rocco (Rocky) Giglio, vice president of operations, attributed the increase in sales to the company establishing closer working relationships with their worldwide distributors, developing more efficient production management, and streamlining cost accounting measures. "In order to better facilitate orders and maintain a consistent workforce, we collaborated with our distributors to create and follow stricter production schedules," Giglio said. "Having a clear idea of how many mouthpieces would be needed from each of our six product lines through the year, enabled us to gear production to our customers' demands better than ever before." Giglio further noted that work was steady at jj Babbitt all year. "Our CEO, Bill Reglein, and I are very pleased with the continued progress and success of jj Babbitt," he added. In addition to time and production management, He also credited close contact with professional musicians as a plus in the success of jj Babbitt. "Our customers help us improve quality by providing constant feedback," Giglio noted. "We give customers what they want."

Giglio further attributed strong sales to Babbitt's long-time popular selling Otto Link and Meyer lines as well as to its newest mouthpiece lines: Hite Premier and J & D Hite. The Hite lines have been produced steadily since jj Babbitt purchased them early in 2005. Sales of these products jumped dramatically In 2006, Giglio credited the increase to fast delivery and turnaround time. The Hite lines also benefitted this year from jj Babbitt's stronger distributor relationship program. Hite Premiere student mouthpieces are used by many school music programs; J & D Hite products are a top choice of professional musicians.
